collaboration with Gontermann-Peipers Siegen, Germany, a leading
European manufacturer of rolling mill rolls since 1825. In 1981, the
company was taken over by the ISPAT GROUP, since then GPI has been evolving itself to keep pace with the dynamic business
scenario and emerged as a leader in the Indian roll industry.
Major
expansion and modernization programme along with the induction of
state-of-the-art technology has kept the company on leading edge of
rolling mill rolls technology with a
product range from SG Iron rolls to the latest generation
High Speed Steel Roll and Back-up Rolls for Steel Rolling Mills –
customized to meet specific customer needs. The only Indian roll
maker with both vertical and horizontal spin casting technology, we
are well equipped to meet the stringent quality requirements of the
latest generation hot strip mills. The company is also one of the
largest producer of forged
rolls. GPIL
is the first
and the only Indian Roll manufacturer to achieve TPM Level-I.
The
company sells majority of its products in the domestic market, and
the rest is exported to leading steel plants of USA, Canada, China,
South Korea, South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin
America and Europe. The
vast
export market has enabled GPI to receive the EEPC Excellence Award
for 6 consecutive years for being the highest exporter of rolling
mill rolls from India. The company has also been conferred with the best Foundry Award from the
Institute of Indian Foundrymen to receive the prestigious ISO-9000
certification
in recognition of its quality systems. GPI is equally
concerned with the conservation of the environment as a responsible
Corporate Citizen. Accordingly the company is striving for ISO 14000 &
OHSAS 18000
accreditation also.
